Join us for a fun-filled day of community bonding and lawn bowls. We are excited to invite you to Roll Up and Try Lawn Bowls.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or have never held a bowl in your life, this is your opportunity to experience the joy and camaraderie that comes with lawn bowls.

Highlights of the day include:
Learn the Basics: Our skilled and friendly coaches will be on hand to provide a quick overview of the game, teaching you the fundamentals and techniques needed to get rolling. They'll guide you through delivering a bowl, game play, and how to properly score points.
Friendly Matches and Showcases: Mix and mingle with our club members, who will be more than willing to play alongside you in casual matches or entertain with skill demonstrations.
Fun for All: Roll Up with friends, family or flatmates, there’s something for everyone. We'll set up a designated area with fun games and activities to keep everyone entertained.

We will be offering exciting prizes and giveaways throughout the day.

Refreshments

Our clubrooms will be open, serving delicious snacks and beverages throughout the day.

Event Details

We welcome our members to join us for this friendly yet fierce tournament.

You will be battling it out for the Barry Eskrigge Memorial Trophy.

9am - 10am: Game 1

10:10am - 11:10am: Game 2

11:20am - 12:30pm: Game 3

12:30pm - 1:30pm: Lunch

1:30pm - 2:45pm: Game 4

3pm - 4:30pm: Game 5

Two spiders will be played at the start of the day and after lunch.

Format/COP

Games 1 to 3: Teams are randomly drawn. 2 points for a win.

Game 4*: Teams are selected, tip 4 bowlers from each side will sit this game out. 4 points for a win.

Game 5*: Top 4 bowlers from each side will battle each other with the rest watching on. 6 points for the win

*Games 4 & 5 will have one random end that will count for double points.

Yellow cards will be given for a wrong bias, jack not up, jack or bowl out of bounds & more. Any yellow card and you’re suspended for 2 ends and someone will sub in. If there are no subs you are on beer duty for 2 ends for your rink team and the opposition rink team.

Discipline (i.e. pairs, triples or fours) to be decided based on registrations.

Scoring:
Shot bowl = 4 points
Second bowl = 3 points
Third bowl = 2 points
Fourth bowl = 1 point
The end is won by the person who has the shot bowl. The winner is the player who has the most number of points after 12 ends, a draw is a draw.

MABC Open Day - All Welcome!

Time: 1pm - 10pm

Join us in celebrating the beginning of the 2023-24 season at our Open Day on Saturday the 7th of October.

We will be enjoying a day filled with fun, friendly competition, whether it’s on the green or in the clubrooms, and the opportunity to learn and embrace the sport of lawn bowls.

The bottom green will be open for a roll up and fun competitions.

Food will be available for purchase. We will have toasties, pizzas, chips and more.

We welcome newcomers to MABC, whether you are an experienced bowler, a curious beginner, or simply looking for a great day out, you are most welcome to join us. It's the perfect chance to come along, ask questions, and experience the vibrant community we have.

We encourage you to bring family, friends, and neighbours along as well. While you enjoy the bowls, they can relax in our delightful club facilities, soak in the atmosphere, and cheer you on from the sidelines. Our clubhouse will be open, serving a variety of refreshments and snacks throughout the day.

The Martyn Cup is open to all Full Playing, Social and Family members of MABC.

This is a great opportunity for our Social and Family members to team up with our Full Playing members and experience a fun and competitive tournament.

Our Twilight Bowls3Five competition is open to the entire community.

This tournament is open to anyone regardless of whether you have bowled before or are a complete newcomer. There will be plenty of members available to help show you the ropes.

Be in to win with prizes each week.

Each team can include one full playing member, the rest must be either social members or visitors.

The bar will be open from 5pm onwards. There will be a sausage sizzle after the games finish at 8pm.

Twilight Bowls3Five Registration

Our Business House Bowls competition is open to the entire community.

This series is open to anyone regardless of whether you have bowled before or are a complete newcomer. There will be plenty of members available to help show you the ropes.

This series will run for a total of 5 weeks on:

• Thursday 2 February

• Thursday 9 February

• Thursday 16 February

• Thursday 23 February

• Thursday 2 March

Be in to win with raffles and prizes at each event, plus prizes for the overall winner.

Each team is made up of 3 players. Players do not need to be the same people each week. Teams can include a maximum of one full playing member who cannot play as the skip.

The bar will be open from 5pm onwards. Fish & chips can be ordered before 6pm for delivery after the games finish at 8pm.

BHB February 2023 Registration

Our Have-a-go Day invites our local community to try lawn bowls.

Join us for an organised bowls tournament or for a casual roll-up.

There will be activities for families, youth and adults throughout the day.

• 10am to midday: Family Fun - bring the kids & Grandies there will be lots of fun for all

• Midday to 3pm: Teens and Tweens (under 18) - bring your teens and their friends

• 3pm onwards: Bowls and Beers - aimed towards adults, the bar is open, bring your mates

Refreshments will be available throughout the day, with Captain Crêpes food truck on site from 2pm.

There will be a raffle and spot prizes on offer throughout the day.

Have-a-go Day Registration
